Kraakman, who works at Herrell's Ice Cream's Cambridge location, has a tried-and-tested itinerary for anyone looking to enjoy a nice weekend afternoon in Harvard Square. After grabbing some ice cream from Herrell's (she may be biased), head to Winthrop Park to relax in the grass and look up at the trees. Then, after trying the bubble tea at Boston Tea Stop or getting food at Veggie Planet, take a stroll down Massachusetts Avenue to the Middle East and catch "alternative bands with names that are funny" in a cool atmosphere.

Celebrating a special occasion? For a surreal dining experience, head to Dali in Somerville. Besides great shared tapas, Kraakman recalls the staff singing and presenting her with a crown when she celebrated her graduation there.
