[You heart educational events!]

For those who like nature walks (and c'mon who doesn't?), the Arnold Arboretum is the place for you. As I found out this weekend, the 265-acre arboretum offers free, guided walking tours of the grounds. Conifers, banzai, and maples, oh my!

About 20 people showed up for Sunday's 90-minute walk, which included at stop at Bussey Hill, the second highest point in the arboretum and a great place to see the city skyline. Between the turning, vivid leaves, the guide's so-bad-they're-funny nature jokes, and the relative quiet of the forest, it was the perfect fall afternoon.

The next tour is this Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Understandably, you may need some strong coffee to make it through almost two hours of leaf peeping at that early hour.
