Allston's Got the Goods
It's flipping cold out, Boston - but I'm sure you've noticed. Lucky for all of us, Yoni Gordon and the Goods haven't gone south for the winter. Instead, the energetic pop-punk outfit has taken a noble vow to keep you warm tonight - if you can make it to Allston's premiere vegan pizza parlor, T.J. Scallywaggle's, by 8. With their newly acquired keyboard player, Yoni and the Goods are playing a free show at the Harvard Ave. restaurant to debut some new tracks.
For those who haven't heard, Yoni and the Goods work the stage as hard as Bruce Springsteen, and their sound taps into the freewheeling spirit of Springsteen himself with ska sensibilities and the punch of indie icon Ted Leo. It won't take long for you to thaw once the music starts, and this strange set-up has all the trappings of a memorable winter's night: The venue will be small, the band will be rocking, and the vegan pizza will be hot.
