Those interested in DJ culture should hit up the ICA on Aug. 8 or 9 for a screening of "Scratch."

This documentary features spinning greats like Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys, DJ Shadow, DJ Q-Bert, and the man often credited with inventing scratching, Grand Wizard Theodore.

A little bit of trivia: In the film's intro, the Grand Wizard says he discovered the scratch while holding a record in place as his mother yelled at him to keep the music down.

I guess mom does knows best.

The showings are at 4 p.m. both days. Tickets are $9, or $7 if you happen to be an ICA member, student, or senior. Check the ICA's site for more information.
