Hallelujah: There are two milestones to celebrate if you’re a fan of the Handel and Haydn Society. It’s the opening of the 197th season and the CD release of “Mozart Requiem.’’ Tonight’s “Mozart in Vienna’’ program conducted by artistic director Harry Christophers features fortepianist Kristian Bezuidenhout. 8 p.m. (Sept. 25 at 3 p.m.; talks one hour before concerts; Friday's post-concert party at 116 Huntington Ave. is $35). $18-$75. SATURDAY

Fluff it up: In 1917, Archibald Query invented Marshmallow Fluff in Union Square, Somerville. Of the many Fluff-focused tributes at Saturday’s Marshallow Fluff Festival, check out games including Pin the F on Fluff Boy, Fluff Fishing, and Fluff Jousting. Artists, musicians, performers, inventors, vendors, and humorists include songwriter Allee Willlis (“Boogie Wonderland” and “I’ll Be There For You”), and Susan Olsen (Cindy Brady from “The Brady Bunch”) whose Fluff-inspired artwork will be on display. Sept. 24 from 3-7 p.m. (rain date Sept. 25). Free (except for food and some activities). Union Square Plaza, Somerville. 617-955-0080. www.unionsquaremain.org/fluff-festival

Fill up on jazz: Three stages, more than 15 artists, lots of vendors, family activities, and a celebration of global music and nature make up this year’s Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival. Noon performers filling those three stages are the Berklee Global Jazz Institute Ensemble, Music Clubhouse Youth Showcase, and pianist Pablo Ablanedo. Noon-6 p.m. (see website for weather updates). Free. Columbus Avenue between Massachusetts Avenue and Burke Street, South End. www.beantownjazz.org

SUNDAY

Bike traffic: A car-free Storrow Drive is a rarity, and it happens at the TD Bank Cycling Celebration. Riders of all levels are invited to try it out and check out Boston neighborhoods on the Hub on Wheels ride. Then relax and watch the pros at the TD Bank Mayor’s Cup Pro Cycling Race. Sept. 25 at 8 a.m. Free Boloco Block Party activities until 1 p.m.; $45 Hub on Wheels registration fee. City Hall Plaza, Government Center, Boston. www.bostoncyclingcelebration.com

Buckingham palace: Today’s word is plectrum. It’s something Lindsey Buckingham does not use when he plays the guitar. Yup, you guessed it, it’s a pick, and the Fleetwood Mac singer, songwriter, and producer will bring his fingers and fingernails to the Wilbur Theatre. Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. $22-$45. The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St., Boston. 800-745-3000. www.thewilbur.com
