COMICAZI COOKIE CLASH 2011: You might not need an excuse to go to an event featuring all-you-can-eat cookies and all-you-can-drink milk, but on top of bringing out the Cookie Monster in you, this one is for charity. Comicazi comic book store in Somerville is hosting a bake-off in which attendees can sample all the cookies they can stomach and vote for their favorite. All proceeds from the event will benefit Boston Partners in Education, a non-profit which supports struggling children in Boston Public Schools. Oct. 15, 7 p.m.-10 p.m. $6. Comicazi, 407 Highland Avenue, Somerville. 617-666-2664. www.comicazi.com
