Boston's annual Veteran's Day parade will start at 1 p.m. on the corner of Boylston and Tremont Street and continue along the Boston Common before finishing in City Hall Plaza. See additional events for Veteran's Day listed below and search more here.


Veteran's Day Cruise: Sail around the Boston Harbor Islands while learning about the role the harbor has played in military history, from the American Revolution to the present. The four-hour tour will include a stop at Georges Island, home to the civil war-era relic Fort Warren. Proceeds from the event will benefit troops overseas. The Boston Harbor Islands and Department of Conservation and Recreation will be collecting donations for the troops. Go here to see a list of suggested donation items. Silhouettes for Sharing: Bring the family to the the USS Constitution Museum in Charlestown to sit for a hand-cut silhouette portrait of yourself and the kids, completed in about 10 minutes by artist Carol Lebeaux. After you're done, tour the historical battleship and museum. 10 a.m. $33, $12 for each additional copy. www.ussconstitutionmuseum.org


Trees for Troops: Starting on Veteran's Day and continuing through Dec. 4, people can purchase 7 ft. balsam fir Christmas trees for $24.50 each at any of the Mahoney's Garden locations, which will be donated to a military families across the country. The garden center will also make a $5.00 donation to the Children’s Christmas Fund every time a tree is donated. www.mahoneysgarden.com


Veteran's Day Parade: The annual Veterans Day parade in Middleborough will leave from the Town Hall parking lot at 10 a.m. Friday. After marching through the town’s center, participants will return to the Town Hall lawn for a ceremony near the Civil War Monument. Military memorabilia will be on display in the selectmen’s meeting room in the Town Hall from 9 a.m. to noon that day. Christine Legere
