The Dropkick Murphys performed at The Boston Globe and Radio BDC as part of "Live in the Lab" series.

Dropkick Murphys fans: It's time to get excited.

The punk rock band releases their much-anticipated new album "Signed and Sealed in Blood" on Tuesday, January 8. Lucky for us, they will return home to the Boston area for an album-release event at McGreevy's, an Irish Pub located in Boston's Back Bay.

The release party will include an acoustic performance, a question and answer session, and opportunities for band members to sign CDs. The event will last from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Be sure to line up early: Admission to this free event is on a first come, first served basis.

For those of you who can't make it to the album release, fret not: Band members can be spotted at different Newbury Comics locations around Boston. For locations, hours, and more, visit the Dropkick Murphys' site for a full list.

The band, whose song "Shipping out to Boston" has become synonymous with Boston sports teams, are offering a sneak peek of their album on Conan O'Brien's TeamCoco website. Both hail from the Boston area, so it only makes sense the two would team up, doesn't it?
