Calling all video gamers: The New England Patriots' Ryan Mallett and the Red Sox's Will Middlebrooks will head to Boston’s Royale nightclub on Dec. 11 for “Celebrity Gaming Challenge” — a new video game show created by Blind Sheep Studios, GameFlakm, and Microsoft. Gamers from around New England will join the sports stars for an evening of video game fun in support of each player's selected charity, and the chance to win the title of “Celebrity Gaming Challenge” champion.

There will be three qualifying rounds at Microsoft retail stores before the big finale at Royale:
Dec. 6: Rockingham Mall, Salem, N.H.
Dec. 7: Natick Mall, Natick
Dec. 8: The Shops at Prudential Center in Boston

These qualifying rounds are open to the public and anyone can register for $25 at www.Celebgc.com. Contestants will compete in an elimination round robin tournament – the final two winners from each location will head to “Celebrity Gaming Challenge” at Royale on Dec. 11. Each qualifying round location is limited to 400 participants, so if you’re interested, sign up now.

Ryan Mallett and Will Middlebrooks will serve as team captains at the “Celebrity Gaming Challenge” final at Royale. They will draft team members from the participants who took the two winning spots at each location in the preliminary rounds. Each team will battle by playing five randomly selected Xbox One video games. At the end of the five rounds, the team with the highest earned points will be designated the winner.

If you’re not a gamer, but still want to check out the battle, you can purchase tickets for “Celebrity Gaming Challenge” at Royale for $20 at royaleboston.com/events.

For more information about “Celebrity Gaming Challenge,” visit www.celebgc.com.

Please note: Patriots player Rob Gronkowski was originally scheduled to serve as a team caption in the "Celebrity Gaming Challenge." The Red Sox's Will Middlebrooks replaced Gronkowski as the second celebrity team captain.
