Captain Dave Carraro skippers the FV-Tuna.com and catches giant cod and tuna like nobody else. The star of National Geographic’s TV show "Wicked Tuna" is one of the attractions at the New England Boat Show, a nine-day nautical extravaganza featuring more than 800 new boats.

Check out luxury vessels, fishing boats, family runabouts, navigation equipment, marine gadgets, fishing gear, a Sailfest, and the Miss GEICO Offshore Race Boat. Seminars, clinics, and an interactive learning center help you get schooled on buying, caring for, and upgrading boats. History and geography lessons await, too, at "Old Charts of New England."

Feb. 22-March 2. Sat 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sun 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (Feb. 23) and 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (March 2). Mon-Fri 1-9 p.m. $15, under 16 free with adult. Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, 415 Summer St., Boston. www.newenglandboatshow.com
