Guerrilla Queer Bar
When: On the first Friday of every month
This isn't your typical bar crawl. Once a month, about 700 to 800 men and women "take over" a traditional straight bar. Past takeovers include the Kells in Allston and Hong Kong in Cambridge. "The bars love it because we run up higher tabs on average and we put a line around the corner," group co-founder Daniel Heller says.
'Shared experience': If bombarding a straight bar doesn't bring people together, nothing will. "It's hard to talk to someone when you're at a bar, but when you're at a Guerrilla Queer Bar, you're part of a shared experience," Heller adds. Sign up on the group's Facebook page.
