Lavender Cooler
$8, The Independent
75 Union Square, Somerville

1 ounce Rain vodka
1 ounce honey-lavender syrup
4 lemon wedges, squeezed; toss in the rinds
Shake with ice and top with soda water. Garnish with a lemon slice.

"This is a light drink you could have with brunch," bar manager Evan Harrison said. "It doesn't pack too much of a punch."

Bottom line: The lavender is there, but it's subtle. We could drink these all day. (Not that we've done that.)
