Season's sippings: Summer 2009

Copley Cooler
$10, MiniBar
51 Huntington Ave., Boston

In the mix:
2 ounces Infusion Diabolique bourbon
½ ounce lemon juice
A few dashes of Fee Brothers orange bitters
Dash of simple syrup
Top off with soda water and garnish with an orange.

"It's almost like a lemonade," general manager Tom Keefe said. "The infused bourbon is more approachable than regular bourbon for a summer cocktail."

Bottom line: The cinnamon, vanilla, and fig flavors in the locally made Diabolique bourbon sing in this drink. We just came around to mint juleps, and this drink furthers our bourbon education.
