In December of 2011, Jay Peak Resort unveiled the Pump House, an indoor water park located at the base of the Vermont ski area.

Connected to the newly remodeled Hotel Jay, the Pump House is an enormous, visually stimulating attraction, featuring four tubed water slides, a surfing pool, rock-climbing wall, and kiddie area.

Three of the water slides—two of which utilize blow-up tubes, twist and turn both indoors and outside (not exposed), each going pitch dark for a portion before splashing into a pool. The red slide is called, “La Chute,” and features a 60-foot drop before throttling the rider into a dramatic twist.

The Pump House isn’t only for teenagers and adults. Young children have their own play area, where they can hurl down scaled-down water slides.

Visitors can also test their shot, or play a little pool hoop with three basketball hoops set up in one pool.

The rock climbing wall is a challenge, and unlike others, this one doesn’t require any sort of harness. Slip, fall, or let go, and you simply fall into the pool with a splash.

One of the most popular attractions at The Pump House is the Flowrider, a surfing attraction that allows guests to “hang 10” or boogeyboard.

Here, one hopeful surfer, tried his hand at staying upright. It’s not as easy as it might look.

If you feel like simply taking a relaxing ride, visitors can either swim, or tube down the lazy river, which circles the entirety of the indoor park, with several entrances and exits along the way.

Above all the action, The Drink is a sort of beach-side bar, featuring drafts, cocktails, and food menu. It’s a popular place to grab a drink, and watch those brave enough to tackle the surfing attraction, or simply a place to unwind after braving La Chute.
