Ten Valentine's Day getaways outside of New England
|
Valentine's Day in New England can be tough. There's ice, there's snow, there's cold. If you enjoy skiing or cuddling in front of a fire, then it's perfect for you. But some people prefer their romance a little further away from home. So here are ten romantic destinations outside of New England, some warm, some are just far away.
1. Paris, France
By popular consensus, Paris is the most romantic city in the world. Everything is more romantic in French -- the food, the wine, the kissing. Oo la la! So whisk ta cherie away for a perfect Parisian weekend.
2. New York
What's more appropriate for Valentine's Day than a weekend in the city that never sleeps? Spend the day in a museum, have a sumptuous meal, go to a show, and then retire for an evening in the most luxurious hotel you can afford.
If Paris and New York are too cold in February, consider St. Maarten, relaxing on Grand Bahama, or Key West.
4. Cancun
Sun, sand, great food, and a chance to use your high-school Spanish. What more could you ask for?
5. Florida
From frolicking at Disney World to shopping in Miami, from pristine beaches to well-known hot spots, Florida is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway without any snow.
6. Two to tango in Buenos Aires
Is there any dance that is more passionate than the tango? Dance, eat late, and live the high life fairly cheaply in Buenos Aires.
7. Italy
With art, fine wine, and plenty of amazing food, Italy is the perfect place for a passionate getaway. And be sure to check out the famously tilted tower in Pisa.
8. Amsterdam
Venice isn't the only place with romantic canals. Check out Amsterdam's canals, cutting edge design, dance festivals, and excellent music.
If you or your sweetie like to ski, try a change of scenery. The Alps are lovely this time of year.
10. Hawaii
Arguably the most romantic place in America, Hawaii is the perfect Valentine's Day getaway.![]()
