Are there any tour companies in this country that offer escorted tours to western European locations for families with other families? We are a family of five, two adults and three children ranging in age from 10 to 15, who are looking for a tour that mixes an educational and interesting European location with entertaining activities for the children (teenage shopping, festivals, nightlife, beaches, etc.). Any tour company recommendations you have or other recommendations would be appreciated.

Tauck World Discovery, a travel company based in Norwalk, Conn., may have just what you're looking for. The company's Tauck (pronounced ''towk") Bridges division (as in, bridging the gap between generations, according to a company spokeswoman), offers family tours each year to destinations around the world. This year, the 11 family tours included European trips to London and Paris, Rome and Venice, and Ireland. Similar trips are planned for 2006. Call them at 866-712-4497 or 800-788-7885 or visit www.taucktours.com.
