How to get there

Northwest Airlines' commuter from Memphis (NWA Airlink/Mesaba Airlines) has three flights a weekday to North Alabama Regional Airport in Muscle Shoals, two on Sunday, and one on Saturday. Most visitors fly into Huntsville International Airport, 68 miles east of The Shoals. Huntsville is served by American Airlines, American Eagle, Delta, ASA, COMAIR, Continental, NWA Airlink, and US Airways Express.

Studio A is the site where many legends worked and their hits were recorded. Not formally open for regular tours, but tourists who stop by are welcome to look around a bit and gaze at the gold records and pictures on the walls. With advance notice, the Alabama Music Hall of Fame arranges formal tours for larger groups. An interesting collection of FAME's memorabilia is displayed in the Swampers Lounge at the Marriott Shoals Hotel & Spa (see above).
