How to get there
All the big airlines fly to Salt Lake City from Boston, with Delta offering daily nonstop flights. The easiest way to reach Park City, Deer Valley, and Alta and go from resort to resort is by rental car. Get one with four-wheel drive since the approximately 30-mile drive from Salt Lake City to Park City passes through mountains.
Where to stay
If staying for a week, condos tend to be the best buy. A three-bedroom, three-bathroom condo in Park City cost us $1,300 for six nights through Resort Quest Vacation Home Network (resortquest.com). Marriott's Summit Watch 780 Main St.
Adjacent to the Park City Mountain Resort's town ski lift, providing easy access to the slopes. Rates $300- $600 per night during the less busy weeks of the season.
Marriott MountainSide Villas

The villas are slopeside, and you pay for the convenience. A one-bedroom, one-bath villa is listed for $469 a night for the first week of March.
Where to ski

Grappa Italian Restaurant & Cafe

Upscale, pleasant setting offers a good, if pricey (entrees $35- $50) meal. The fish and pasta dishes, as well as inventive des serts like a caramel-pecan chocolate tart with pomegranate sorbet, did not disappoint. Open nightly at 5 in winter; 6 in summer.
424 Main St.
A casual restaurant with dishes inspired by northern Italy and southern France. Fish, meat, and pasta entrees $20- $30. Open nightly for dinner from 5:30; Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. for lunch.

Snow Park Lodge at Deer Valley
Not your typical ski lodge cafeteria, with salad bar, daily soup specials, baked potato bar, chilis and stews, carving station, grill, pizza, and don't forget the jumbo cookies. It's easy to spend $15 to $20 per person. Breakfast 8- 10:30 a.m. daily. Lunch 11 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. daily.
