A tribute to Diana; Manson to France

The Eurockéennes festival in Belfort, France, turns 18 this year with 60 concerts set for four stages over three days.

Elton John will no doubt sit at his piano bench for a too-sentimental and none-too-subtle version of "Candle in the Wind," but that shouldn't stop you from trying to score a ticket to the massive star-studded tribute to the late Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, who died a decade ago. Organized by Prince William and Prince Harry, the all-day concert on their mother's birthday features sets from her favorite acts: Duran Duran , Bryan Ferry , Take That , and Andrew Lloyd Webber . Harry and William have added a few of their own picks, such as Kanye West , Joss Stone , and Lily Allen . Most tickets are sold out, but there are a few deluxe packages remaining that start at $700. Pricey, but the cash goes to Diana's favorite charities.

The three-day festival returns to a newly repaired Louisiana Superdome with mainstage headliners Beyoncé, Ludacris, Lionel Richie (!), the O'Jays, and Mary J. Blige . Unlike most music festivals, which fill their secondary stages with has-been DJs and throw-away pop acts, the Essence has a lounge with Public Enemy, Angie Stone, Common, and Kenny Latimore . Tickets range from $45 to $165 each day.

Perhaps the only festival this summer where you'll find goth shocker Marilyn Manson sharing a stage with French knob-twiddlers Air , Les Eurockéennes prides itself on its musical diversity. This year's show includes Swedish ensemble I'm From Barcelona , actress-turned-rocker Juliette Lewis and her band the Licks , Brit bad girl Amy Winehouse , and French pop quartet Phoenix . The concert takes place on a scenic peninsula that juts into a lake near the border with Switzerland. Free camping is available for the weekend. A three-day festival pass is $115.

A massive old-world tent with teak floors, velvet interiors, and Art Deco doors known as Spiegelworld returns to its location under the Brooklyn Bridge this summer for a line up of shows that includes Lady Sovereign , Lila Downs , and Badly Drawn Boy . There are also European-flavored cabaret shows such as "La Vie " and "Absinthe " running throughout the summer. In addition to barrels of entertainment, Spiegelworld includes a beer garden and an outdoor area dubbed the Green Fairy Garden .

This quirky festival is where hipster parents bring their ankle-biters for feel-good pop music. The line up includes the B-52's, Blondie, Patrick Wolf, Junior Boys, Hot Chip, the Rapture, Nouvelle Vague, and a DJ set from Groove Armada . For the kids, there's an insect circus, a steam fair, and edgy puppets. Tickets are $70 for one day, or $120 for a weekend pass.
