I've attached colorful ribbons and straps to my black wheelie suitcase to make it stand out from everyone else's. Yet nothing has worked as well as the Luggage Locator, which comes with a battery-operated receiver and a key-fob-sized transmitter that are synchronized. The small, durable receiver attaches to the outside of my suitcase - and has held up remarkably well - and I carry the transmitter with me when I fly. When the luggage carousel starts spinning, I push a button on the transmitter and it triggers a flashing light and chirping noise on the receiver, so I can see or hear my bag when it's up to 60 feet away. The FCC-approved, water-repellent device sells for $14.99 at Bed, Bath & Beyond.
