Sun Wine Fest: Mohegan Sun Casino is the setting for this two-day wine and food festival. Celebrity chefs include Todd English of Olives, Jasper White of Jasper White’s Summer Shacks, Bobby Flay of Food Network and Mesa Grill restaurants, Govind Armstrong of Table 8 restaurants, and Lydia Shire of Locke-Ober Café and Scampo. Hotel Guanahani Gourmet Festival: For the price of a room at this small luxury hotel, guests can savor the cuisine of Guy Martin, who owns the Michelin 2-star Le Grand Véfour and also Sensing in Paris and Boston. Seafood, truffles, fresh sardines, risotto with aged Parmesan and tiny octopus, and other foods will be among the dishes prepared by Phillippe Masseglia, the hotel’s executive chef. Zin in Paradise: Four days of tastings, wine and food pairings, and meetings with winemakers distinguish this 19th annual festival dedicated to zinfandels. There will be 275 wines to taste, and attendance is estimated at 10,000. Events include “Good Eats and Zin Pairings,’’ a “Grand Tasting’’ of zinfandels, and “Evening With the Wine Makers.’’ Beverly Gannon, Hawaii’s premier chef, cookbook writer, and owner of Maui’s Hali’imaile General Store, will be part of the festivities.
