Opening Day at Billings Farm
Well, of course, we associate Opening Day with Fenway, but since you've already begun to read, you should take note that Opening Day for Billings Farm in Woodstock, Vermont is one heck of an anticipated event.
On Thursday, May 1, Billings Farm and Museum will open its doors and offer horse-drawn wagon rides and free ice cream to all its visitors. Dating back to 1871, the working Farm stays true to teaching others what Vermont's rural past was like. A visit to the Farm is a great way to learn about Vermont's farming history and what is maintained through the Farm today. It was a gift from the Rockefellers, with conservation in mind, and is connected with the Woodstock Inn as well. Make a weekend of it by booking a room for the Inn and staying the long weekend at the Farm - there is plenty to see and do for days. And free ice cream is worth any expense.
