Kayaks, Poker and Quahogs

Posted by Kimberly Sherman May 23, 2008 09:32 AM

The Onset Bay Association gears up for its Onset Bay Kayak Poker Day this Saturday May 24. Without too many details released, the event has enough mystery to it, for me to spread the word. Apparently, kayakers leave from Onset Beach, stopping at different locations within Onset Bay. At each stop they choose a card, and return back to Onset beach to reveal who indeed drew the best poker hand. Prizes are awarded to the best hands and other raffles will be drawn. Why not? Call 508-295-7072 for more information.

Down the way a bit a local favorite, Salerno's, will be Onset Bay's 4th Annual Stuffed Quahog Contest. Amateurs and professional culinary enthusiasts may compete, with the public being the judges of who takes home the Stuffed Quahog Trophy.
