Open Studio Weekend
It's time to narrow down the options for the upcoming long weekend, and decide which state, which event can give you the most bang for your buck. A very good option is to head to the state capital of Vermont and explore their 16th annual Open Studio Weekend May 24-25.
Open Studio Weekend is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and all the intricacies of the artistic process. During Open Studios, Vermont artists and craftspeople invite the public to visit them while working in their studios. For those who can appreciate the final result of such purpose, touring Open Studios will undoubtedly leave you more appreciative.
Featuring the work of glass blowers, jewelers, painters, potters, printmakers, weavers, furniture makers, ironworkers, sculptors, quilters and carvers, the Open Studios can surely offer something for everyone. Many galleries will host talks, and feature special exhibits in conjunction with this annual event. More than 260 sites will be open during this event, with more than 285 artists and artisans participating.
