Top 10 domestic airlines
Not a surprise, but Virgin America came out on top of Travel + Leisure's reader survey of the best domestic airlines (T&L also did a survey of international carriers but with the cost of air travel and the swooning dollar who can go global this year anyway?). Respondents were asked to rate the airlines from one to five, with one being the worst, in cabin comfort, food, in-flight service, customer service, and value. T&L also went back to respondents to screen out any travel industry types.
Rounding out the top 10 were:
2. Midwest
3. JetBlue
4. Sun Country Airlines
5. Hawaiian Airlines
6. Frontier Airlines
7. Southwest Airlines
8. USA 3000 Airlines
9. Alaska Airlines
10. Horizon Air (a sister carrier to Alaska)
Notice which of your not-so-favorite major carriers didn't make the list? Feels good to have your prejudices validated, yes?
