Where to find sexiest women and men in world (excluding us, of course)

Those guys at the delightfully reprehensible Matador Nights. They define mensch. Why the lavish praise, you ask?
These guys have compiled a list of where you can find the world's sexiest -- outside of the United States. I know this is not the criteria by which most plan their travel. But frankly I have heard of worse reasons (I have a pal that has this Mickey Mouse thing...but that's for another day).
So, where can you find the sexiest women?
MENDOZA, Argentina: "Go out on a Friday or Saturday night in January and there’s a good chance seven out of ten girls you see at the bars will be insanely beautiful ... the majority epitomize what you would expect from a smoking hot Latina: Brunette, olive skin, sharp, dark eyes and hourglass curves.
HAVANA: "Tall women with striking features ... the music will stir your soul. This is no place to be a shy gentlemen, but if you can’t open up with a few words of Spanish you’re sunk.''
SEOUL: "If East Asian beauty floats your boat you’ve come to the right place. Don’t confuse westernized with western here -- Seoul style is singular and unique. And if anyone tells you that Korean women are docile and humble, you have been misinformed.''
Sun Lee of Seoul was Miss Korea in this year's Miss Universe pageant.
TOKYO: "Expect a lot of big beautiful eyes, sleek raven hair, and legs to die for. Contrary to popular myths, Japanese women are very approachable and often speak English.''
DUBAI: "As in many predominantly Muslim cities, women find ways of expressing feminine allure in spite of their hair and bodies being largely covered. Makeup and shoes are rarely worn with such tantalizing effects.''
PRAGUE: "Prague’s streets teem with blonde haired, blue-eyed beauties. A touch of old Europe.''
AMSTERDAM: "Amsterdamers are quick to brag that their city has a massive mix of nationalities ... A few days cycling around this city will have you gaping, trying to figure out which international city some of these angels just flew in from…and then there’s the native Dutch! Tall, fit, friendly, cultured, and usually multilingual. Do you need anything else?''
ISTANBUL: "Forget any preconceptions of belly dancers, the women of this city are dynamic, modern and crazy diverse. Aside from the archetypal Arabian Nights look, you will also find blonds and even the occasional red head. True to Mediterranean fashion, Istanbul residents are meticulous about appearances.''
SINGAPORE: "It’s all about the accent. Singaporean English (Singlish) is at once sophisticated, endearing, cute, and sexy. Somewhere between public school Londoner, New Delhi socialite, and urban Chinese, this is English as it should be spoken. Singapore’s year round humidity and relative affluence means that the summer range of fashion is constantly updated and the ladies of this micro-state are always a step ahead of it.''

And what about the men, you ask?
PARIS: "Je t’aime! When it comes to romance, the men from the city of lights truly do live up to their reputation. Don’t expect berets and silly mustaches, as the French men of Paris have stepped it up a notch and have a much edgier style of dressing, philosophizing and pursuing women.
"... Instead of having dinner on the top of the Eiffel tower, you and your fabulous tour guide will check out the latest grungy cafe; and instead of having French poetry whispered in your ear, you’ll find yourself debating politics as you peruse open air markets, taste-tasting fresh fruits and cheeses.''
ROME: "The cliché of the Italian lotharios is alive and well. That said, the effect isn’t quite the same knowing that most of them still live at home with their mothers.
"Quick to brand themselves as “Italian stallions,” these men really do know how to lay the compliments on thick ...
"However, don’t dismiss these smooth boys just yet, as you’ll be charmed by their passion for protesting everything from the environment to legalizing pot, as well as their affectionate nature and love for their Italian mothers.''
BERLIN: "Berlin is THE place for traveling bookworms, artists and intellectuals looking for some stimulation - mental or otherwise. The stereotype of uptight, lederhosen-wearing Germans is no longer applicable in the 21st century.''
AMSTERDAM: "The sexiness of the Dutch seems to be underrated, but these sharply dressed and quick-witted men really do deserve some time in the spotlight.
"No, they aren’t all potheads and mushroom-eaters in Amsterdam - they leave that to the wide-eyed tourists. Though they’re not known for any hot-blooded romantic gestures, these 'tall glasses of water' are well-mannered, skilled linguists and will be eager to show you some drug-free (or whatever) mind trips.''
LONDON: "From jokes about 'British teeth' to 'Benny Hill,' the boys from London sure do have it tough. Aside from celebrities like Orlando Bloom and Hugh Grant, Londoners in general are often perceived as cocky, stuffy and just plain unromantic. However, these lads have a charm that is all their own.
"Their witty, self-deprecating jokes and remarks will have you falling off the barstool, while their knowledge of pop culture issues and trends will leave you flabbergasted.''
MANILA, PHILIPPINES: "If the hot and humid tropical weather hasn’t gotten you sweating yet, the Manila men certainly will. If you’re looking for some old fashioned, high romance, Manila men are as sexy as they get. From long drawn out courtships to thoughtful gestures, these seemingly conservative souls will make it their personal mission to sweep you off your feet.''
MADRID: "The word 'sexy' seems to be synonymous with 'Spanish men,' and the men of Madrid are in a class all their own. Cool, sophisticated, charming, creative and oh-so-captivating, their passion and pride for their city is contagious.''
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: "There are a hundred reasons why Aussie blokes are considered hot. It could be their sexy accents, dedication to physical fitness and well, their sexy accents.
"Now don’t assume that the men from Sydney are carbon copies of Crocodile Dundee or the late Steve Irwin, as Australia is a massive country where the outback is a world away from the city. However, the guys from Sydney are cosmopolitan, fun, cheeky and won’t hesitate to make shameless references to taking a trip 'down under.' ''
BANGKOK: "Though Thailand is rife with foreign exploitation and is perceived by many sleazy travelers as their personal 'sex playground,' the inclusion of Bangkok in this list tries to avoid such stereotypes.
"The men, as well as the women, in Bangkok are not only sexy because of their beautiful features but because they know everything there is to know about the latest music trends, have profound sensibilities towards visual art and a deep respect for their cultural traditions.''
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: "Kuala Lumpur is more than just its famed Petronas Towers, this happening city also has a plethora of sexy, captivating men. It’s not just the food that’s savory, but also the guys, who are extremely cultured, intelligent and multi-dimensional. Be prepared to eat your heart out, as you’ll most on a taste-testing adventure through the streets of KL.''

It never ceases to amaze me how often pseudo sophisticates in the media are often so parochial that they can't even get international monikers right. There is no such place as "The City of Lights" (as if everybody in Paris must have their building lights on, or something.) It is "The City of Light." Look it up! Memorize it.
Then go back to reporting about South Boston.
What a bunch BS! So if I go to Dubai.... I'll be able to tell who the women are? An as far as Havana goes, just come to Miami instead!
who wrote this absurd article.. street vendors and covered up girls..cmon
Is South Boston considered a Third-world or a developing nation?
possibly one of the most ridiculous articles i've read on this website. in my wide cirlce of girlfriends, none would consider men from manilla or bangkok to be particularly sexy. i've had the pleasure of visiting france & italy. men of both countries are overrated, arrogant, rude, and are lacking in the hygiene department... englishmen, the ones who are educated, are too prissy. agree with aussie men, they are usually sexy. not being insular as i've travelled extensively, but good old american men rank very highly for me; along with aussie & irish. typically all of them are fit, fun, & good looking. croatian men are also very good looking & unpretentious, as many of the eastern euro men appear to be.
Interesting take on sexiness. obviously written by a woman (no man would ever consider women covered in sheets to be sexy). some yellow fever in there too. and when do japenese people have big eyes? laughable. and the pictures were not of many sexy, beautiful women...yes central europe is loaded with hot women bu the picture of the girl in Prague looked like martha stewart. as for the men, cant really comment much but i was always under the impression that french men were a bit sleazy, and too feminine, bordeline gay. but, beauty (and in this case sexiness) is in the eye of the beholder so whatever. just my 2 cents
this article makes no sense...the writers must have needed to throw somethin up before a deadline...wheres the African continent represented...lol u guys kill me! Stop passing this off as journalism~!
What utter garbage...the Globe has been going downhill for a long time but now it's reached "Maxim magazine" depths......
a lot of folks live in africa-- not sure you knew that or not. but world-population-percentage-wise, they are a lot of them. anyway, was surprised you forgot about them.
the most super stupid article that i've ever seen
I just spent two months in Seoul and somebody has been lieing to the Author. The girls don't look you in the eye, they giggle like school girls when you say something remotely overt and they cover there mouths when they speak. It is ridiculous to call them anything but obsurdly shy and introverted
1. Too bad that standards of beauty continue to exclude men and women of African heritage.
2. Must be a slow news day.
In response to the first poster: Actually, Paris is known, in French, as the "ville des lumières" which is accurately translated as "city of lights." It is also accurately translated as "city of the Enlightenment."
So I guess who is and who isn't "parochial" is all in your perspective...
How lame! Can you say "Yellow Fever" any more blatantly? Totally follows only stereotypes of what beauty is. This feature is like a bad accident. I couldn't help myself from looking even though I knew it was going to be ugly. Thanks for meeting my expectations.
Stupid, stupid, stupid non-journalism. All of your photos are from a stock photo service. Just type in "Italian couple" and this is what you get. The street vendors of Malaysia, how dumb. What about Girls and Guys from Scandinavia, or South America. Both men and women from there as well as Africa are beautiful. I don't know why I gripe. The Globe will just follow up with another dumb article about what Tom Brady is doing on the beach this summer. What... Oh they did that already.
You can't be serious with this article?
Have you been to all these places or have you just seen them on the travel channel?
I agree with the above comments. The Globe use to be a serious, intersting respected newpaper, but now it pubishes cheap "Sex In The City" knock-off articles.
Bring back the old guys that knew what they were talking about, knew how to really write and would have physically knocked out anyone that would try to hand this junk in and pass it off as news to anyone.
I find this highly offensive. As others have said, African countries are not represented at all, but maybe they should be glad about that since all this article is doing is fostering stereotypes and making broad (and inaccurate) overgeneralizations. Obviously, there are sexy men and women everywhere in the world. Is it really necessary to categorize them by race or country--and not only that, by CITY! as if that were even possible. The gall of this author is unbelievable.
I also find it highly suspect that the "sexiest women" are mostly Latina or Asian, whereas the "sexiest men" are mostly white/European. Colonialist attitude much? I'd be frightened to see what this author would come up with to describe African men or women. Let me guess - maybe something about "tribal beauty" for the women and "masculinity of the hunter" for the men.
There is no point to this article at all, except to offend. This author and the Globe editors should really be ashamed of themselves for publishing this kind of trash.
Eww! A new Globe low! The trifectaÑEurocentric, racist and sexist. Why not just go whole hog and add a list of sex acts and pricing?
Funny how people in third world southeast asian countries are considered sexy. The only thing that comes to mind is the sex trade there. Young girls for sale to old men and young boys for old men as well. Defiinitely NOT sexy. What's with the picture of a Singapore TEENAGER or the guy asleep while trying to sell rice? C'mon...who wants to see that? Oh, and BTW, he's 5 foot nothing at full adult height. There's nothing sexy about that. No representation of Africa at all? Can you racist?
The writer of this article has never been to Nelson Mandela's spectacular Republic of South Africa before.
Wow! Come and have a look!
Aussie men can go to sleep.. South African men are tops.
Anyone wants me to send him / her a picture of some of the most beautiful guys in the world?
Email me: ebenezer@lantic.net
no Russia at all - it is very strange :)
gosh...hw cn sm1 b so stupid to write such a nonsense....
I am surprised by all the negative comments. This article was a fun read. I don't think it was meant to offend but rather entertain. As a friend of mine once said "Sex appeal is probably more of a criteria that is specific to the onlooker". I think this article is sending a good message, that sexy people can be found everywhere, not just in the US. People may have different standards of beauty and sexiness and it's interesting to see what people find attractive in other countries. Sure, it's full of stereotypes and we all know that stereotypes are preconceptions and can be misleading, but they have a reason for being, to be broken down and demystified, and, taken for what they are, they can be extremely funny.
some of your picks are heavliy towards the far east however you failed to mention the western hemisphere when collecting your skewed data ! what about BRAZILIAN, PUERTO RICAN, and VENEZUELAN women as well as COLOMBIAN, ARGENTINIAN, and BRAZILIAN men ; obviously you must be blind or have no taste in people as Latin American's are hot !
This is The Boston Globe?
I thought I clicked on a link from AOL's main page.
How can anyone find the veiled and covered women in a muslim country sexy???
Big eyed Asians?
It seems that this wine and cheese liberal is going out of their way to NOT notice ethnic differences. Typical.
Figures this article was written by a female.
I'm very disappointed in what used to be a very respectable and powerful news source.
If they are trying to cater to a younger and more diverse crown then this isn't the way to do it. Competing with the shallow main pages of Internet news sources is not going to work.
Just my 2 cents.
BTW, I think Newbury Street in Boston and Harvard Square in Cambridge often have a great many attractive people of both sexes. It's undeniable.
Unfortunately, the writer of this article probably gets rejected by most American men (or women - she's a writer after all) to think they are worth mentioning.
What a load of bollox.
People everywhere are sexy or not. Is it really important to even think about, never mind write a terrible, mindless, waste-of-time 'article' about the very idea of cities of supposed 'sexiness'. Sorry I ended up clicking on it, I should have known better!
You forgot Russia; St Petersberg, and Moscow have gorgeous men...
Thank you, all of you for calling this a poor excuse for journalism! Most major metropolitan cities have some fit, well-dressed, educated people with up-to-date sense of culture (edgy). Where one finds such cities should depend on what one likes. Pin-pointing cities is stupid-it's all major cities. Besides some people may prefer the country-side crowd. I don't think it's a secret that most of us prefer one culture and race over the rest. That's just how it goes. Does that need to be taught in sex ed, geez, people.
Some of the comments are much more absurd than the article. The purpose of the article is obviously to entertain and entertain it did. As far as leaving out this or that part of the world, come on, this is supposed to be the sexiest, not the most democratic. Face it, African men and women are not sexy. They don.t dress sexy, they are not well ... anything. Although I have met a beautiful woman from South Africa, but she is white, well dressed, articulate etc. If I was black, I probably would have different taste.
I have been to Japan, Europe, and North America. In my opinion, the sexiest women are in Switzerland, followed by Japan. I haven't really been checking out the men.
You know what?...Leave the writer alone. It's just an opinion. We all have one. His thoughts don't represent the feelings of EVERYONE on the Globe staff collectively! Hell, I don't even agree with him completely. I think women in Scandanavia should be mentioned, as well as some of the beautiful african types.
Just be thanful that it may've opened your mind to some new ideas, as you travel to the worlds most popular cities checking people out.
How can the list leave out the women of Russia?
Not a single African country is on the list..shameful.
Not a single African country is mentioned...shameful.
And how can one leave out Russian women?
Furthermore, having traveled all over Europe and having lived in Spain, I never found the local men, especially in Spain and Italy, attractive. They could be attractive, but the mix of effeminate and 80s fashion of the day (think tight pants, and mullets..yes mullets!) make them laughable.
What a pathetic, racist, sad excuse for a news story. Please give your readers more credit.
Trust me, eastern europe is, as far as women are concerned, the best place on this earth.
Bulgaria especially is fscking amazing! And yes, I have seen all continents and many, many countries. It's a country most people will never visit but those that have are awestruck...I was.
