No kidding...did you know that the Down East region of Maine produces nearly 85 percent of the world's, the WORLD'S, blueberries. How is it that I am a life-long New Englander and never realized this? I love those plump blue pearls of pleasure! Especially when they reside in a warm muffin!

Machias, Maine celebrates their 33rd Annual Wild Blueberry Festival this weekend, August 15-17, town-wide. Regional artists will be their showing and peddling their craft, as well as, pie eating contests, farm tours, fish frys, live music, baked-bean suppers and children's activities fill the 3 day affair.

Call the Centre Street Congregational Church at 207-255-6665 (M-F 9:00-2:00) for more information and ticket pricing.
