Mollusk Mania!
Often times the poor little shellfish of our seas get overshadowed by the succulent lobster, hearty chowders or clam bake events that seem to be around every corner of New England. Well, this Sunday, Sept. 14, the oysters, quahogs and clams will have the spotlight to themselves at the Shellfish Shindig.
What makes this festival unique is the opportunity for visitors to meet the shellfisherman and women that catch and farm them. This celebration of mollusks will educate the public on the varied salty delicacies from Massachusetts' waters, as well as, teach all about sustainable aquaculture traditions. Each grower will prepare and sell their own food and state brewery, Samuel Adams, will provide the must-have accompanying beer!
For just $10 admission, you can eat buckets of mollusks and sample many varieties of Sam Adams beer. This is a CASH ONLY event, but you may buy tickets in advance here. The Shellfish Shindig takes place at the Samuel Adams Brewery in Jamaica Plain.
