Still cooking after the fire
We were sorry to learn that Bob and Alexandra Graf, proprietors of the Inn at Danbury in Danbury, N.H., (see Oct. 8, 2006 Checking In) lost their home and barn to a fire. But the historic farmhouse-turned-inn escaped damage and remains open even as the couple undertakes the daunting job of rebuilding. In fact, they’re planning a fall full of events and offerings, including a couple of special dinners in their homey German-style restaurant. Oct. 26 is the date for their fifth annual Oktoberfest wine dinner, a 5-course meal with wine pairings. On Sept. 28, they’ll present their first annual Oktoberfest beer dinner — another 5-course menu paired with beer. We’re surprised they hadn’t thought of it sooner! If you’re in the area for leaf-peeping, please stop in and give them some support! You can get more details at their website or by giving a call: 603-768-3318
