The cranberry bogs of New England are so underrated, don't cha think? Whether you've lived here all your life, or are new to the region, make a point this fall to enjoy a cranberry harvest. Opportunity knocks as Columbus Day weekend is a popular time to celebrate the antioxidant-rich red globes of delicious, and The Cape Cod Cranberry Growers' Association and A.D. Makepeace hosts its 5th Annual Cranberry Harvest Celebration on Oct. 11-12 at company headquarters in Wareham, Mass.

The highlight of the event is of course the guided walking tours of a working cranberry bog, or in this very special case, by air, with helicopter rides afforded at $35 a person. Featured as a family event, you can expect juried crafters, exhibitors, children's activities, cooking demos, pony rides, pumpkin painting, live music and a juggling troupe!
