Free skiing at Sunday River

Posted by Eric Wilbur, Boston.com Staff October 30, 2008 09:47 AM

The New England ski season officially kicks off Friday, when Sunday River is offering a free lift ticket to anyone who shows up in full Halloween mode. For those not in costume, the cost of a lift ticket will be $25. We assume the "dressed as Bode Miller" excuse won't fly.

The Maine resort's Locke Mountain triple chair will spin for the first time this season, beginning at 10 a.m., with open terrain that will include Upper Sunday Punch and T2.

The mountain will remain open through the remainder of the weekend, then will cease operations come Monday. No word on any further weekends as of yet.
