There are just some organizations that make sure any event with their name on it gets the big-time attention and fanfare. Mount Snow in Vermont is a destination many times during the year, and Oktoberfest in West Dover Oct. 10-11 delivers the same guarantee. Complete with authentic German music from the Oberleander Hofbrau Band, the festival goes the extra mile with German foods, beers, games and activities for all ages -- like a keg toss for big kids, and stein holding contest for all ages. Inside the main base lodge, juried artisans and crafters from across New England showcase paintings, woodwork, photography, and specialty foods. Check out which breweries will be on hand, and what cuisine will draw to the event.

No charge for admission to art show and admission to Oktoberfest is:
adults $20 per day or $30 for both, under 21 $12 per day or $20 for both; kids 5 and under free.
