And I don't mean the beer. Last year, Manchester, Vt. set a Guinness Book of World Record by carving the most pumpkins in one place, at one time. While so many towns attempt to break the world records with number of Jack-o-lanterns, lit jack-o-lanterns, painted pumpkins, etc., I have indeed never thought to set a new record of carving the most pumpkins in one place, at the same time. But currently the record stands at 214 pumpkins in 4 hours in Manchester, Vt. This Saturday, Oct. 18, the picturesque town aims to smash its record.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Orvis Flagship Store will host the event with a Harvest Dinner following at the Equinox Valley Nursery beginning at 6 p.m. Wagon rides are offered, as well as, a try at the Nursery's corn maze. Call 802-362-6313 for more information.
