Food + wine = fest

Posted by Kimberly Sherman November 19, 2008 10:03 AM

No time like the present to follow everyone else's lead. Food and wine festivals seem to be multiplying exponentially, but this weekend is Stamford, Conn.'s first. This 2-day Connecticut Food and Wine Festival will showcase the industry's most recognized and respected wine producers, as well as, shine the spotlight on local producers of wine, with area restaurants presenting some of their signature dishes. Organizers of the festival are confident this event will be the first of what will grow into an annual 3-day destination event showcasing the talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers and various chefs. So if you can't make this year's inaugural debut, keep it in the calendar for next year.

Better yet...The festival benefits the American Society for Scleroderma Research and will soon become a provider of scholarships at various culinary institutes. Event takes place at the Stamford Marriot Hotel and Spa, from noon to 6 p.m., Nov. 22-23. Cost is $25 in advance; $35 at the door; and a bargain $40 in advance for a 2-day pass. Call 203-275-6459 for more information.
