Mother's Day in Maine is full of Brunches
I like to think that the whole Mother's Day brunch idea came out of the notion that Moms can always use a 'meal off' -- and since brunch takes care of both breakfast and lunch, why not a double whammy for Moms on their day? Thus, the ever popular Mother's Day Brunch tradition. In Maine, many restaurants have their Mother's Day brunches planned and are ready for reservations. In case you've got your head in the sand, know that Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 10 and Mothers do not forget those who forget! Here's a brief listing of some fabulous Maine brunches.
Eve's at the Garden, Portland
Newly appointed executive chef, Earl Morse, is planning a spectacular Mother's Day brunch, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Garden seating will be available, weather permitting. View the menu online. Call to make reservations at 207-523-2079.
Natalie's, Camden
Let's just say the menu for Mother's Day brunch at Natalie's is so mouth-watering, it's getting it's own entry later.
The Front Room, Portland
Show Mom how much you love her by taking her to Brunch at The Front Room Restaurant & Bar. Talk about ambiance in the I-could-stay-here-all-day way. Brunch is served from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oh, yum.
555, Portland
Pronounced Five Fifty-Five, this comfortable restaurant is serving Mother's Day Brunch and Dinner [because obviously someone realizes just how much Mothers like a day off from the stove], from 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 5-9:30 p.m. Information and reservations are available online.
Harraseeket Inn, Freeport
For Moms wanting to forego the bar and bistro scene, a grand old Inn of Maine is the ticket. A delicious Grand Buffet will be served for Mother's Day at the Harraseeket Inn. Seatings are from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. View the complete menu online.
