Opening night at Tanglewood

Posted by Kimberly Sherman June 29, 2009 08:30 PM

A dream of mine is to attend opening weekend at Tanglewood, which a lot of the time includes James Taylor in the mix. It can't happen again this year for me but you can attend the July 3 opening night, which includes music by Tchaikovsky featuring the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by music director James Levine, and pianist Yefim Bronfman. The weekend continues with the Fourth of July concert on Saturday featuring the sophisticated jazz stylings of singer/pianist Diana Krall. The weekend wraps up Sunday with the BSO concert of Stravinsky's monumental The Rite of Spring and the Brahms Violin Concerto. Tickets range from $9-$89, making this affordable to all.
