The weather's outside been frightful, but here's something that's delightful.  On Saturday, Jan. 16, the Squam Lakes Association in Holderness, N.H., is hosting a very special Free Family Day Winterfest.  Activities include skating, snowshoeing, sledding, x-country skiing, snowman making, marshmallow toasting on a open fire, and the chance to partake in a hot chili competition.  Buy a mugful and get the chance to vote on your favorite crock.  Also available from noon to 3 p.m. is winter golf, nordic skating and ice fishing.  The weathermen say it's going to warm up this weekend, making the Winterfest a truly perfect occasion to bring the family up north and let them experience the many great outdoor activities that only winter provides.
