What the website lacks, the event makes up for in wintry originality. Manchester, Vt., and surrounding communities join forces to make one giant Winter Carnival Shebang. Held Feb. 10-14, the Shebang offers a smorgasbord of activities for all ages. Come watch the dog sleds run, or try a ride yourself. Bring your apron and crock and enter the 18th annual Chili and Macaroni and Cheese Challenge, and leave with bragging rights that'll leave jaws dropped. There are snowshoe hikes at the Equinox, town center bonfires and nighttime fireworks. Ok wait, there's broom ball, hockey, rail jams, snowmen making, a biathlon and sugar on snow treats too! It's all here, you have every reason to go.
