Got a bunch of used travel guidebooks not doing you any good now that you’ve been where you wanted to go? GuideGecko, a publishing platform and bookstore for travel guides such as Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, and Insight Guides, is offering a new service: Travelers can list their guidebooks at the site, free of charge, set their own price and shipping costs and reap 85 percent of what they sell them for, with GuideGecko keeping 15 percent.
Titles are listed immediately and available to customers worldwide, said Daniel Quadt,  founder and managing director of GuideGecko. Once a guide is sold, the company collects payment and sends an email with shipping details to the seller. GuideGecko pays the 85 percent via various options, including PayPal, check or bank transfer. There is no cost for listing or removing titles.
                For information, visit guidegecko.com/sell-travel-guides.
