Travelers at Logan Airport will have a new parking option as of Monday morning, when the first 1,000 spaces of a new 3,000-space economy garage open to the public.

The new two-deck garage aims to consolidate all economy parking at the airport into one location. It replaces the open-air economy lot, and will be serviced by Massport shuttles which will run to all terminals. Parking will be the same as the current economy lot rate: $18 per day, or $108 a week. All 3,000 spaces will be open early next year.

"No one likes to have to hunt for parking when they are trying to catch a flight," director of aviation Ed Freni said in a statement. "We hope the garage eliminates that stress and we wanted to make sure the permanent spaces were available before the holidays."
