Oktoberfest in November
I did not get my act out the door to attend any of the region's Oktoberfests last month, but with Pat's Peak's Oktoberfest being held on Nov., 7, I won't be missing a thing.
I will be at those bountiful tables filled with German foods, in Harpoon's German Beer Garden, listening to King Ludwig's Bavarian Band, an Omm-Pa-Pa Band encouraging sing-a-longs for all. The kiddos will be plenty entertained with activities including sack races, face painting, and spin art. Making the event more unique is its Lumber Barn Woodsmen Show with ax throwing, wood chopping, saw cutting, and more. If that's not manly enough, there will also be the Henniker Farm and Country Store NESJA Ski Joring and Mounted Shooting Demo going on through the afternoon.
To prepare you for the winter season the Finish Line Ski & Board Shop will have an outside tent sale with deals up to 50 percent off select jackets, helmets, fleece, goggles, and more, while the Pat's Peak Ski and Snowboard Club will be hosting ita 40th annual ski and snowboard sale on new and used equipment and apparel.
