Warblers and puffins and pelargics, oh my! Registration is open for the 2011 Acadia Birding Festival, scheduled June 2-5 on Mount Desert Island. Register now, as many activities, especially those with noted experts Pete Dunne and Kevin Karlson, are expected to fill quickly.
The four-day schedule is jam-packed with activities such as guided walks, canoe trips, and field excursions to various island locations both within and outside Acadia National Park; guided seabird and whale-watching boating trips; workshops and talks; and social gatherings and meals, including a lobster cookout.
A flat fee of $350 covers everything, or activities can be purchased individually, with prices ranging from $25-70. Now that's something to tweet about!
