Last week, JetBlue announced a 3-day sale; today Southwest has launched one --- although it's not quite as extensive, at least from Boston, as last week's. For this sale, you must purchase before April 22 for travel through June 7. A 14-day advance purchase is required. Sale prices are available everyday except Fridays and Saturdays, and blackout dates are May 26, 30, 31.

Here are some sample one way fares from Boston to: Baltimore and Pittsburgh as low as $49; Philadelphia as low as $74; Norfolk, Va., $81; Jacksonville, Fla., $94; Jackson, Miss., $139; Houston $164; Kansas City and Fort Myers, Fla. $179.
