Talk about intrusive searches.

Feministe blogger Jill Filipovic says that she found a funny, if cringe-making note in her luggage after a recent search of her checked bag by TSA officials. Filipovic wrote this on her blog:

This is what TSA will do when they inspect a bag you checked and find a, um, “personal item”: TSA inspection slip with the words "Get your freak on girl" written across it

The "personal item'' in question? Filipovic told New York Magazine in response to an e-mail query that it was a sex toy.

In the wake of several high-profile incidents in recent months, the TSA has been accused of unnecessarily violating the privacy of travelers with some of its search methods, including the use of electronic scanners that reveal too much and "enhanced'' physical patdowns. This incident, however, represents a new potential area of outrage, frustration, and, for some, humor.

And before we wander too far into the realm of TMI, dear friends, we bid adieu.
