If you have a great mind you wish to share with fellow great-minded travelers, Artful Travelers may have a cruise of interest for you. The Palm Springs-based company has announced a January 2014 sailing, “Exploring NOVA,” named for the highest-rated science series on TV and the most-watched documentary series on public television. Onboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ all-suite, all-balcony ship, the Seven Seas Mariner, the 14-night experience sails from Miami on Jan. 25 and arrives in Lima, Peru, Feb. 8, with ports of call including Curacao, Aruba, Colombia and Ecuador. Throughout the journey, private dinners, receptions and shore excursions will allow for one-on-one chats with some of the nation’s most fascinating minds, said Artful Travelers President Kevin Corcoran, enabling guests to have “insightful discussions with PBS and NPR personalities.”

Though the trip’s great-minds list isn’t finalized yet, previous sailings have included guests such as Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill, Ari Shapiro, Ric Burns, David Lee and Mary Ann Esposito. If you can’t wait for January, there’s still room on Artful Travelers’ final 2013 program, the Indian Ocean Odyssey Dec. 3-22, which celebrates the work of “Frontline” and “American Experience.” On that trip, the worlds of filmmaking, politics and history will be explored by folks such as David Fanning, Mark Samels, Charlie Cook, Raney Aronson-Roth, Arun Rath and Renata Simone.

If you go, bring your deep thoughts and wallet: Fares start at $9,749 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes airfare, unlimited shore exclusions, beverages that include fine wines and premium spirits, tips, ground transfers and more.
