Newport’s newest al fresco venue, The Chanler’s redesigned Cliff Walk Terrace, has opened, and is marking the occasion with a “Ten on the Terrace” menu offered from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and select weekends. It was created to commemorate The Chanler’s 10th anniversary, and runs through Aug. 29.Rhode Island native and Executive Chef Thomas Duffy developed a specialty menu with 10 small-plate options focusing on local, upscale comfort food, such as grilled jumbo shrimp with lemon, and an artisanal seafood charcuterie plate with pastrami-cured salmon, local smoke blue fish pate and Asian-marinated calamari. Ten seasonal cocktails, including the Berry Ten Anniversary Drink, where created by the staff at The Chanler’s restaurant, Spiced Pear. There are also $10 daily specials. Designer Jenn Radlinski did the Cliff Walk Terrace redo, creating a casual venue with sunset palette, sculptural furnishings and flowing draped fabric panels.
