Catie For the Holidays LR.JPGJoin the Fairmont Copley Plaza in celebrating canine ambassador Catie Copley's 12th birthday at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8. Activities include a reading of the book "Catie Copley," followed by birthday cake for humans and special snacks for Catie's canine friends. Among Catie's special canine friends is Carly Copley, the hotel's newest canine ambassador, who turns 3 this month.

The reading and birthday party are free and open to the public. In lieu of gifts, guests are encouraged to bring towels, blankets, or toys for donation to the Animal Rescue League Boston Shelter. The event takes place at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, 138 St. James Ave., Boston.
