James Beard Foundation honors Olneyville

Olneyville New York System has always been one of our favorites among Rhode Island's system weiner restaurants, and we're glad to see that the James Beard Foundation agrees. We wrote about the place last May in a “Fork in the Road” column. This spring the James Beard Foundation picked Olneyville as one of only four newly enshrined “America's Classics,” noting that Greg and Stephanie Stevens are the fourth generation of owners at this joint known for weiners slathered with mustard, covered in meat sauce and chopped onions, sprinkled with celery salt, and served on a steamed bun. Believe it or not, the celery salt makes a difference
