Bragdon’s Hill is on Route 101 in Amherst, N.H., right near the Bedford townline. It is by far no secret, and it’s a great spot with no trees, stone walls, and a wide-open, long hill. The Bragdon family used to always let people sled there, but when the farm went under several years ago the town bought the land and have now made the parking much better and safer. You can now cross safely under the highway in the former cow tunnel. President George W. Bush went down on a sled with some kids there on a campaign stop in 2000.
