Regardless of whether you call it a grinder or a sub, several Boston eateries can fix your hunger when it comes to the old-fashioned sandwich. Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe in the South End, Cambridge's All Star Sandwich Bar, and Darwin's Ltd., with two locations in Harvard Square, are among the area's best bets.
